This event is organized by Funchal´s Town Hall, the Association of Regional Canoeing Madeira in collaboration with the Association of Madeiran sports for all ( Associação da Madeira de Desporto para Todos).

The 2,5 kilometre route starts at Funchal quay and ends in Barreirinha, on the old part of the city.This event pays tribute to António Geremias Sousa, pioneer and main entrepreneurof this event on the Island.
