Between 1 and 9 May the SRTT/DRT will be promoting the destination at the Estoril Open. This is a prestigious event that, in an unprecedented act of solidarity with the victims of the storm of 20 February, has decided to dedicate the first day of the tournament to the Madeira Islands. The SRTT/DRT will have a 9m2 stand at this event.
Between 10 and 14 May, the tour operator MUNDOVIP will be holding promotional workshops in four different cities on the Portuguese mainland (Coimbra, Porto, Algarve and Lisbon), under the theme "Cinema, a film, a destination". With this initiative, the tour operator hopes to inspire travel agents to choose its products through films that have left lasting impressions.
The Pousada de Faro (Estoi Palace) will be hosting the Madeira workshop in Faro, an event targeted at around 120 travel agents from the Algarve. In order to boost this domestic market initiative, a variety of decorative pieces will be on display during the event, such as traditional cowls, leather "villain" boots and brinquinho instruments, similar to the displays that have been found at other promotional events in the domestic market.
The Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) will be at the Palace Hotel in Estoril on 29 May for the 10th "Baile da Flor" (Flower Dance), where, following the example of previous years, the Madeira Islands will be represented by flowers and wine from the region. This year's dance will be raising funds for the Salvador Association.
